Role: Web and mobile Lead UI Visual Designer /Web Designer

Project background: To provide a digital design service to the company for the creation of assets as used on the eCommerce site, design for their HTML email marketing and the complete redesign of the existing 10 year old corporate website in time for launch to the stockmarket at the publishing of the 6 monthly report.

Core responsibilities: The design of the visual assets to “freshen up” the existing online shop, to provide a UX critique on how to improve the online shopping experience and create a modern, clean and attractive corporate site.

With many years experience in UI/UX, I was the only in-house designer working alongside the marketing team to create assets and website page layouts, HTML emails for the recently launched HouseBeautiful range, and iconography to show the tools required for homeowners who wished to lay their own flooring, laminate, carpet etc. I was also responsible for providing the ‘hi-res’ screens, typography, icons and accessibilty guidelines through the RNIB for the developers to incorporate on their websites.

Liaison was with the marketing team, major stakeholders on the project with my upline manager. We were also able to use one of my development team partners based in Aberdeen for the build of the corporate site. The management team were very pleased as the project was delivered on time and within budget.
