Role: ‘Mobile-First’ Lead UI Visual Designer

Project background: Complete digital transformation of Santander PLC website, tablet & mobile interface for Business Credit Card Applications.

Core responsibilities: I was the only ‘Mobile-First Lead UI Visual designer on Project Spectrum that was directed solely at the businesses community, from Sole Traders; Partnerships; Limited Liability Partnerships and PLc’s so they could check their eligibility, and apply for a Santander Business Credit Card. Working alongside BA’s, a product manager; scrum master; UX designer and a team of 14 in-house developers as and being a member of the Design Council, instrumental in making key decisions to both UI & UX. My responsibilities consisted of, but were not limited to the following:

  • Create desktop and mobile designs using Sketch and Zeplin to build existing design wireframes and
    prototype to agreed brand look and feel,
  • Working with the UX designer I to contributed to and shape designs around customer needs and
    experience, based on user testing feedback,
  • As part of the design council I was, integral in contributing to colour usage, iconography and proposing
    designs that extended the digital style guide as appropriate, adding branding and interaction elements,
  • Interpreting wireframes and prototyping,
  • Presenting to key stakeholders and briefing the multinational team of developers.
